Thanks So Much To Everyone!

Everything has finally died down and I've gotten a few minutes to sit down and say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who took part in my wedding to make it the success it was!
Thank you to Danel's Bridal Salon and Cindy and Kaela for all your help! The dress was gorgeous and a total hit!

Oh my gosh! I'm getting married in 2 days! It's exciting but scary too! I feel like I keep going over every little detail a million times just to make sure I have everything done!
I just bought my final gift for a family member at VanCott Jewelers. (I can't tell you what it is incase they're reading!) but it's really nice! Ruthann my saleslady helped me. She has such good taste, and thank goodness, because I don't know much about jewelery! Infact, my fiance and I bought most of our gifts there. They actually had something for just about everyone we wanted to get gifts for which makes it really handy!
I know I've said this before, but VanCott Jewelers is so easy to work with. I'm terrible at picking out gifts and they made it extremely easy! They have a gorgeous store and plenty to choose from!
 They even did a toast in the store for us congratulating us on our upcoming wedding! You really get a personal touch from VanCott when you enter their store. From the moment you walk in until the sale is complete, (and even after!) you really know they care about you and the care of your jewelry!  9 Days!!!

So I'm sitting at my desk and it hits me... I HAVE 9 DAYS UNTIL MY WEDDING! STRESS!!! Wedding planning is such a long process. I feel like I've been planning for years! I understand now why some brides are finally happy to get to the big day!
Yesterday I picked up our rings from VanCott Jewelers. They are gorgeous! I put mine on a couple of times and wanted to wear it so bad but I know I have to wait. (It's just killing me!) ;-) My fiance' and I went in to VanCott's on Saturday to figure out what we wanted to have engraved on our rings and I had a few gifts I had to buy too. Ruthanne, the adorable lady shown below, took a lot of the guesswork out of the gifts so I wasn't freaking out because I didn't know what I was doing. It's amazing how the simpliest of decisions can suddenly feel like the biggest problems ever, but Ruthanne gave me simple solutions and I was done in no time!
I can't recommend enough going to VanCott Jewelers. They are professional, friendly and have great customer service! Everytime I walk in everyone treats me like we've been friends forever. I actually think some of the staff might almost be more excited for my wedding than I am!
Two Weeks Until The Big Day!

Oh My Gosh! Two weeks to go! I can't believe it's almost here. It's so crazy to think you spend an entire YEAR planning a party that will be over in the blink of an eye! Most of what I need to get done is FINALLY done and right now I'm working on my gorgeous wedding band! My husband to be doesn't care as much about his being "pretty" like mine but I knew I really wanted to like my ring if I was going to be wearing it forever!
I've been stopping in to VanCott Jewelers in the Town Square Mall and checking in with Ruthann who is probably the coolest sales associate I have ever met! She always greets me with the biggest smile and asks how I am and how my planning is going. Honestly, I think she is about as excited as I am for this wedding! She and I sat down and had a long talk about diamonds and what I was looking for and what would look good on my hand. I tried out a series of rings and then I found it. "The" ring! She made me feel really good about the ring I picked out and told me it was one they often suggest because it's so beautiful and it's so well made. I was sold! It's great to put your confidence in someone who knows what they're talking about. Especially when it's something you don't know anything about!
Right now we're working on figuring out what to have engraved on the insides of our rings. I have no idea! How do you come up with something you know you'll like forever? I know Ruthann has some ideas so I might just steal one of hers! ;-)
With Less Than 4 Weeks To Go, It's Time To Pick Out Wedding Rings!

I can't believe the time has gone so fast. You know what it's like when you're just involved in day to day life that suddenly you look at the calendar and say "oh my gosh! Where did the time go?!" That's where I'm at right now!
Plans are coming along really well altho I feel like there are still plenty of little things to do! I do still have a few big things left too, including picking out our wedding rings!
I stopped by VanCott Jewelers in the Town Square Mall and spoke to Ruth Ann about what I was looking for. From the beginning Ruth Ann treated me more like a friend than a customer. I told her what we were looking for but also let her know I had never bought nice jewelry before so I was in need of some serious help!
I had a lot of questions and Ruth Ann patiently sat with me and answered everything I needed to know including the 4 C's (Cut, Color, Clarity, and Carat weight) and what the cut of a diamond can mean. I definitely walked out of there feeling confident about the choices we were going to make and at ease knowing we were getting our rings at the right place. I have been in other jewelry stores where they acted like they were doing you a favor by waiting on you. Not at VanCott! They treat you with respect and work with you to help you find what you're looking for no matter what your budget. They've been selling jewelry in Broome County since 1919. That tells you something!

I'm so excited! I got my Shower invites back! They are sooo cute! Check these out! (This is just a sample from their selection but exactly the ones I ordered)
I used Inscribe and they told me 48 hours but were actually done in 24! I don't think I've ever ordered anything and got it in that short of time! If you need something done right and done quickly, I'm telling you, this is the way to go!
This weekend I'm planning to go in and look at the Programs. They have a ton to choose from so I know it won't be that hard picking any out.

Step By Step At Party City!

Things are coming along great and I'm slowly checking things off my list! Did more wedding shopping this weekend. I've had a heck of a time figuring certain things out and It's been driving me crazy. I actually haven't even felt stressed out until now. Around 10 weeks to go! The time is going so fast! One thing I do have to admit tho that I haven't been stressed out about is all my invites from Party City. Talk about making things simple! Since I've been going in there, Betty and Lisa have answered all my questions and have pretty much made it as simple as possible. I think it took less than an hour to order my invitations and that's only because I was being picky about what I wanted them to say! ;-) I'm heading in this week to order shower invitations and the selection is to die for!
Have you ever gone somewhere to pick out invitations and they had 3 or 4 types and you hated all of them? You will never find that at Party City! Infact, I found there were too many I liked! To tell you the truth tho, I'd rather be fretting over having too many to like than not enough! There are more than I could get in one picture! This photo shows only about half of what they actually have!
As far as the shower invitations go, I think I'm going to use "Inscribe" to get them done! I told you about them before but trust me, as busy as things can get in our lives, it bears repeating! Inscribe is custom invitations done on site in as little as 48 hours if you can’t wait for Custom Invitations which can take two weeks! You'll actually get to see a proof too so you know what you're getting! My shower is less than a month away and I need to get these in the mail asap so this is the way to go!
I came across another really cool thing while I was at Party City and it was this awesome Banner Maker!
You could totally create your own banner for your wedding if you wanted!

The Invitations Are Ordered!

Just finished ordering the invitations and Thank you cards a few days ago and I'm so excited! It's actually beginning to feel more real now! I love our invitations from Party City. They are off white with copper leaves. Gorgeous! We would have been completely lost without Betty and Lisa to help us out! Here is Lisa who was happy to stop and chat with me about wedding items (even tho she was on her way out the door for vacation!)
Not only are there hundreds of paper items (invitations for every occassion, save the date cards etc.) there are a TON of items for your wedding! It's Getting Closer...

Ok so I just looked at the calendar. It's 13 weeks away. MY WEDDING IS 13 WEEKS AWAY! Oh my gosh! It's so exciting and nerve wracking at the same time! The planning has been going spectacularly well so far. I thought it would be much harder. But that's why it's important to work with people who are professional and skilled at what they do. I've had nothing but awesome experiences with The Vestal American Legion so far. For someone who's never been married, it's such a relief to have someone like Kathy who can give me ideas.
I was looking through some other pictures of The Legion and I saw a few that gave me some incredible ideas.
As soon as I saw this picture I was sold on doing the chair covers because I think they make the room look sooo much more elegant! The thing is, you can do anything with this room and it will be elegant. This space is so great for weddings but the fantastic thing is, you can do anything here! Anniversary parties, birthday parties or office parties! As a matter of fact, this is where we had our holiday party last year!
I also recently learned that there is a room downstairs that's perfect for a bridal or baby shower or any other event for up to 75 people! Thinking in terms of making things easy, you could have your bridal shower here, and your reception, Kathy can decorate if you want, and they cook the food! Where else could you have everything done in one place?
